Carnival Sleaze and the Illusion of Completeness

 The quest for completeness is an illusory undertaking. In the Preface to my recent illustrated guide to adult, carnival-themed novels (Delights and Nightmares on the Midway, 2025) I cautiously included the following caveat:

"My fervent desire is that this guide is complete. Given the scant documentation surrounding mid-        20th century paperback publishing, however, it would not be surprising if additional unknown                 adult carnival-themed novels surface in the future."

Naturally, a previously undocumented carnival sleaze novel has surfaced within months.
